If you look at the back of one of those Corolla hatches, and squint a bit, they look a bit like the ADO16......... and before you beat me up, I said squint a bit!

That's as cold as ice these days. But I suppose the driver must be willing to sacrifice. A few things like street cred and build quality.

 

I wonder if the buyers of new ones expected sagging sills, waiting for a curl.

 

In terms of ugly cars; new Seats are hideous! Both inside and out.

I'm actually wanting to buy that very car (if it hasn't gone). They're ultra reliable and very comfy inside. Ace for an A-to-B car, but probably not what you want if you want a car to turn heads.

I know humour one has to explain isn't funny - but I wasn't being sincere. Someone else mentioned it being designed by a Foreigner - hence the crap AOR lyric references.

I was intrigued by the suggestion that the Mk2 BINI was more bloated than the Mk1 so I've been looking out for them. Yesterday I saw one of each together in a traffic queue, I can't see any significant difference between them. I can see why they would want to expand it though, the average BINI owner is unlikely to fall down any gratings.
