Italian rarity

An old pal of mine has this in his garage awaiting restoration, it's a Lancia Flavia Zagato spyder. It belonged to his uncle who owned it from when it was about 6 months old, but it's been off the road for 30 odd years now. He's had it running, and it's solid but it will need a comprehensive restoration. The mechanical layout is interesting with a flat 4 engine mounted well forward driving the front wheels. Looks wise it's certainly an acquired taste......

True, on both counts.

 

Pininfarina did the posh Flavias, tintop and ragtop, but Zagato did do its own coupe.

Nearly.... the convertible is actually by Michellotti at Vignale, although it is nearly identical to the PF Coupe. Here is a helpful guide to avoid confusion;
