I went along to the Raby castle vintage vehicle show last sunday,

great weather and great turnout of all types of classic vehicles,if you ever go to this event mind you dont stand in any of the hundreds of piles of deer shit that cover the ground.

A herd roam freely in the castle grounds.

Great pics thanks for taking the time to post them, I'm particularly drawn to these three, the TVR 280i Tasmin work better as a FHC in my worthless opinion, this one looks very tidy.

 

The Mini Clubman estate, not mad on the wheels/arches but this little honey has a twin cam 16v head from a BMW motor bike on it so I'd estimate at least 100bhp which would be very entertaining in a small car.

 

Finally the Alfasud, I think this one was featured in a magazine, I would confirm this if the pages of the said journal weren't stuck together with yoghurt.

A nice comprehensive selection of pictures, thanks! How often does Raby Castle have classic car shows on? I'd love to go to one. I go right past there a couple of times a year and I'd love to go up when there's one on.

 

I see I'm not the only one drawn to that Ambassador! I'd be all over that and especially the yellow Firenza.

 

That's a lovely two door blue Cortina. Local to the north east too. It's been several years since I last saw a two door one in any guise other than the mk1 & 2 in the metal.

 

I spot a red Nissan Sunny Coupe in the background on one of the pictures also...! A pity about the non-standard alloys, but still very nice all the same.

 

Ahhh, the Leyland Roadrunner! The firm my dad used to work for had one of those in dark green with chocolate brown bumpers. I remember having a run out in it when it was only a few weeks old.

 

A bloke with an immaculate white H reg 205 CJ often attends one of the local classic shows in Bridgemere about half an hour or so away from me. It always sits in the corner on it’s own with mutterings from the older generation with their Sherpa coupe’s and soft tops saying "That's no classic. It's not rare...bla, bla".

Nice set of photos lad. Particularly loving the wee caravan, I'd have one those to go with my wheeled stereotype and \ or trilby. It's almost aedicular, the lack of space wouldn't bother me

The first annual car show to tie in with the end of festival week, apparently. Torn between that and Corbridge though.

Thanks - never heard of the Wallsend Festival. Only lived here for 31 years and not fully integrated yet.

 

(One pair of my grandchildrens other grandparents live in Wallsend so I have been there once or twice)

I think they are on at least twice a year the next is in august.
