pogweasel Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Obviously all roads are not the same. Could be anything from 3 to 5 metres or more on an "A"-type road. What are you trying to scale / achieve as trying to work off aeriel photos is a bit imprecise unless they have been rectified/photo-controlled. Also, a road width is a very short baseline to work off. I can have a look on promap or similar if it would help...
Rocket88 Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Sure fire way is to find it on Google earth, and scroll about a bit for a cricket pitch, which are all 22 yds long.............
pogweasel Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 ^ A better idea ^ But I would still err on the side of caution if you're trying to do something "proper". PM me if you want some assistance with this. It's what I do, and I have access to systems Joe Public doesn't.
warren t claim Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Are you planning on dragging it out?Inspired by that bloke in PPC, I plan to drop it into (through) an SD1. Look out for it an ebay in three or four years time, it'll be listed as "diesel SD1, unfinished project".Seriously. Drag it out with a Rangie.
pogweasel Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 OK, so I checked the 1250 scale drawing for that area on Promap, it's giving me 6.700m between the highway edges, so you weren't far off with your estimate Hope this helps.
