Agreed valuation for insurance

I changed insurance companies this week from Adrian Flux to another called RH specialist Car Insurance who my wife has dealings with through her work and gets really good discount, From £180 last year down to £102 this year with european breakdown cover included.

 

They also do agreed valuation but unlike AF where you need to send in 6 photos of your car to them, RH just ask you to take it to a local garage to value to and write it on a headed paper as proof, It also can't be anyone who's ever worked on the car before neither.

 

Having never done this before where would be the best place to take it?, There is a BMW specialist up the road but i think they manly work on newer stuff, I haven't a clue where to go for older stuff!.

That's not a bad idea but it's a 4 hour round trip!
