Capesthorne Hall Pictures

Just a basic thread from me chaps. Nothing extraordinary. Station's deserves a mention for sheer persistence (every car there!) and the Minmad's have potential for the people shots (something I'm crap at getting).

I'll just carry on taking mine at wonky Dutch angles and piling on the contrast in GIMP 2. Retrogeezer told me he had a go with the aforementioned slave software and couldn't work out what I was doing. If you knew how simple it was, you'd kick yourself.

As ever, we had the most diverse pitch out there. We need the banner Mr H. Get to it Mark. Bring us some batteries and fuses while you're there.

Station's SC100 with some kind of bizarre XJS variant. Station also told me that the car is sold! EXCELSIOR!

As seen in Conwy.

Now obligatory fin shot. I clocked this 4 \ 72 way down South a couple of years ago when I went to Sudbury to buy my Piazza. Cholmondeley had its Borgward, and Capesthorne responds with a biscuit ADO 9.

Lovely detailing on this Wolseley 4 \ 44. Were they the same underneath as the ZB Magnette?

Hey, I've got a CHROME PLANE on the door of my car, what have you got? Oh, some 17" Dezents. Fascinating.

Is this an RS 500? I don't know enough about Sierra Cosworths to tell. It was lovely though.

American kit ruled the roost as it was their featured day.

The detailing on the Septic barges was fabulous.

Thelma & Louise era Thunderbird wore AM Racing Centerlines.

I could see Hirst filling Wakefield Town Centre with one of these.

Back to Blighty with a bump. Cute 1300 pair both on KN Geminis.

Scrap pastel Consul shot.

I *think* this is a Berkeley. Am I right?

Retrogeezer tells me this is a Crewe car. Can't be many of these left, especially on the cheese run.

I pissed off several marshalls to get this shot. As I'd just started it up to get off our pitch, it was still spitting rich unburnt fuel through the exhaust pipe. GR 8 4 SULLYING LEGS OF JOBSWORTHS.

All in all, a good day out, although I didn't think the show was up to the standards of Cholmondeley. The irritating compere was still at large and if I'm honest the autojumble was shite. If I want 15 stalls of tat I'll hit Altrincham market on a Tuesday - who gives these people exhibitors licenses? I want ex Halfords crates filled with oil encrusted dials and several square yards of knackered enamel signs - not manky cast offs nicked from the collection compound of a charity shop.

Anyways, thanks to everyone who showed up. Special props to Minimad5 who found me some fuses and to Edd who came from up from Colchester (and whose Wartburg sort of stole the show).

Nice shots, but Dutch angles? This country's as flat as a pancake... or is that why, because you always have to lean against the wind here?

I agree, Jon. In fact, as much as I may sound like a pensioner with not much else to do other than read the Daily Mail, I may just fire an email to A_GRNWD to this effect.

Anyways, my (small number of) pics will be appearing soon.

Yeh, it looks like the Sunday is the better day for 'our' kind of thing judging by the photos I have seen of that day.....we'll know next time eh.

Jon, did you take a pic of my car?? I thought I saw you snap it at some point and just wondered what Dutch angle you took it at?

They're good photos, and I'm starting to like the effects/angles on them!

The food stands outnumbered the stalls.

My dad puked up from the chips

Great pictures as always Jon

As for buying them Fuses - It's the least i could do to say "Thanks for taking me" :D

I think Dave (mk1_4dr) wanted the magazines that Simon put at the top of the box.

(Think they are Annuals)

All in all it was a great day

Can't wait for next time

(As for the Banner, i shall email Mr H now !)
