After reading this artical about the 1980 Motorshow it got me thinking about other cars that had expensive conversions when new.

 

It seemed to be all the rage back in the 80's for this sort of thing, We had the Capri Tickford

 

 

And even the Acclaim got in the act with the Avon conversion.

 

 

What others were there now?, I think the Tickford Metro is still the best one.

I do, and my thoughts at the time were "Want!". Not seen one for years though, are there any members one here who owned one?

Sorry to go off topic..but as far as bodykits go..this student photo from 1985 I took certainly takes the 80s plastic cake..note bonnet emblem..definitely to big for its boot..or bonnet
