Audi doesnt seem to be a popular choice for a classic in the UK (apart from the Quattro). You hardly ever see the old 80's from the 70's (that sounds weird) or the old 100's I know they suffered bad from rust but it does seem strange that you dont see many Audis at car shows when other german brands are popular. My current daily driver is a 1994 L reg Audi 80 1.6SE I bet in another 6/7 years they'll be few 80's left on British roads.

I suspect this is the best place. http://www.classic-audi.co.uk/

I've found this one to be the best too, nice bunch and very helpful.
Yep, me too. As much as I love (liderally want to marry one) ur-quattros it is brill to see the other stuff so well catered for, like my coupe, 80s, 100s, there are also guys with early motors on there too.

How's the coupe going Mr S? Got my horns off yet? ;)Audifans.net is also a very good site for 80s Audis.Have you signed up to Vagcat.com yet? It's a forum essentially but sign up and you get access to a copy of the VAG EPC.

I keep forgetting!! Send me your address and I'll make sure they get to you soon. Coop is going great, this week it has been down to the New Forest from home, back again, then down to Milton Keynes today. Needs a service I think she's a bit lumpy at idle.

There should still be a set of brand new plugs in the glovebox, or least there was when I gave it to Keith. If it's running lumpy check the back HT lead as it's, ahem, a bit of a bodge... Otherwise whip the bellows off and see if the metering plate has got any crud on it; it needs to be kept spotless to work properly. The mixture used to go out a bit too, but that's easily tweaked on that engine ;)No rush for the horns; let me know if you're down anywhere near Watford / Luton / Aylesbury way and I'll meet you.

What a star - thanks Rob. I'll have a tinker tonight. Work with Keith near Wellingboro' so not far to trek :)
