A friend has this has his daily (only) car. He could really do with finding a clutch. Anyone got any contacts in the old Pug world? Its an "S" or something which apparently makes a difference?

I'm pretty sure Darius Bunch is still the 204/304 specialist and working on them, maybe worth giving him a call on (01923) 855352 (Radlett).He used to work on my 204s in the nineties and always had loads of bits.

I've a spare304 engine/gearbox unit - complete.I can split it to get the clutch out- if it helps.Condition currently unknown-but believed good.

You don't need to split engine and box just take the end cover off, I think with the engine out you can get behind the clutch unit possibly through the starter hole and drift the pack off. Doing one in the car I would deffo try and borrow a puller these thing can really stick to the crank. If you get a real tight one leave it for a few hours under tension on the puller and they usually go on there own.There are different types/makes of clutches but I think if they are changed as a unit they are inter changable.As an aside the Peugeot place I worked had the 305 used for the Haynes manual come in with the clutch come off twice, think it had to have a new crank in the end.

May sound a bit weird this, but try "Booths of Ditton" in Widnes. They've been Peugeot dealers since just before the French were invented. They were overrun with 304s in the late '70s.
