Saabnut Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Anybody else going? I don't plan on buying anything but there are a couple of items of interest so we will see. Just don't bid against me! lesapandre 1
RetroShite Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 I was planning on heading up today on the auction managers request. Always better to go the day before to get a good look at stuff.
RetroShite Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Had a quick look around earlier, wasn't too much stuff of interest. wesacosa, Saabnut, Low Horatio gearbox and 3 others 6
doug Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Watching on line. Did you buy the silver Saab??!! Or the silver MG for £500 that they pushed through " only out of petrol" ?Sent from my SM-A127F using Tapatalk
Saabnut Posted February 18, 2023 Author Posted February 18, 2023 Didn't buy anything! No need for anymore moderns (the Saab 9-5s). The c900 'vert went to £600 (but Morris Leslie have introduced a minimum buyers premium of £300 which makes cheap stuff expensive) but has serious rot in the driveshaft tunnels. The Daimler 250 V8 I went for was described as being a non runner and recently taken out of a garage. What they did not say it had probably been in said garage for well over 20 years and a fair bit of trim and the alternator were missing. Lots of welding done underneath to pidgeon standard and much more needed. Made £3600 I think, I would not have been interested at half that figure! Still, a nice 150 mile round trip in the AX Diesel, and the chips were good! lesapandre, Low Horatio gearbox, puddlethumper and 2 others 3 2
lesapandre Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 So as a winning buyer you pay them £300 for the 'privilage' of taking some old tat away! Phew.
Low Horatio gearbox Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 I presume they want to make buyers and sellers equally unhappy. You would think that with some of that extra cash they would be able to spare a tenner for some petrol to get that MG instead of pushing it. I mean I fixed the rover recently with petrol , but it was actually out of petrol and not a fucked non runner.
