Rush Green Spottage!

Just a few random snaps from today's outing to Rush Green. There's a lot of empty space there right now as new stock is expected.

Saw some of these trims go on eBay for £77 a couple of weeks back! A tenner to you sir!

That Foden armyish looking thing is brilliantly sinister looking! And the wheeltrims on the GTE...where've I seen those before?

Posted

I've seen some Ford wheel trims that look very similar.

Aren't they the trims you used to get on sportier MK4 Escorts, but not seen very often because people would usually specify alloys?

That AEC Regal is the "office" bus isn't it?Great to see assorted tat still lying around eg. the A30 shell. :D

Yes the bus used to be the office many moons ago. Now it's brim full of old starter motors and the like. Apparently it was made back in 1940 so now 70 years old!The A30 shell has been there for years and just seems to get moved around the site.

Not sure if that IS a drops byt the green foden (it would have to have been fitted with other wheels if it was a drops) has pointed out something that I really should have noticed but didn;t that the Foden drops used the same cabs as the S80, start the day on a revaltion! RGM is always a source of interesting pictures so thanks for putting these up!m0rris

Those German buses are ace, look like they should be bendy buses too. (although misisng the back half :( )GR9 for Maiming Cyclists..If I had some land I'd like to convert one into a house.

The tatty Scimmy trims are definately Ford, but what example?

These are the Escort XR3i trims

My favourite is the gaggle of Leyland T45's including a Day cab one clearly in early Rover livery with royal warrant on doors.

And I'm sure those airport buses are bendi examples, why Rush Green thought they'd be a good investment I don't know!

If they have a regular turnover of stock, how is it that plenty of the stuff appears to have been there forever?! There are heaps of examples of lorries that you don't see regularly anymore, only in places like Rush Green, fairgrounds or Malta! :)

Check the comedy prices that they are asking for the really old stuff.Rush Green is several operations under one umbrella --- cars, trailers, export, and the really old stuff.Prices for the classics are way, way beyond reality - as can be seen by the fact that several unique vehicles have been there for so long that they are turning to dust.

They used to have a very old steam lorry in one of their sheds; iirc it appeared to be in the process of restoration. I can't imagine what that would be worth, but I didn't get the impression it was for sale anyway - too special.
