My wife only 'sees' smiley faces so that one's a bit glum for her radar. But I see it - and it will now haunt me.

Not as much as you expect (1.8 diesel on a M plate, in France, failed to make the next 'Aire' totally despite fuel gauge lies). Bill was extortionate until I sussed it was in FF and not € (joys of 1999).

the civic will show about 650mls but is only 47l tank

Mine still optimistically reads over 500 when I fill it up, even though it's been getting high 300s to low 400s for the last 4.5k miles. 43l tank. I think I've averaged 54mpg.
