You're doing well with the stuff you're seeing, no CXs/GSAs for me yet. But I'm only on my second day in France.....

Home now, drove right across France from Colmar to St Lo in a oner,  no motorways. 40 degrees in places. Arrived at the F1 in St Lo after midnight , machine wouldn't accept my booking code so we had to sleep in the car..😡

Next morning went to a little village called St Charles de Percy, where my grandad is buried in the war cemetery,  killed 78 years ago to the day in action after landing on D Day..

Spent the day at the Normandy beaches then up to Dieppe for the ferry, 3 hours sleep on the ferry, then straight drive home from Newhaven to Fife.

France is just dust, crops all dead and dried up it was never below 35 during the day the whole time. The middle of France is just empty, and hundreds of closed businesses and empty houses, but wherever we went, the roads were beautifully smooth and perfectly surfaced.

The Rhine is pretty empty too, they cant use most of the barges as the water is too shallow, so everything's going by truck.

Stuck the SLK up for sale as it's done its job now. Had nothing but nonsense messages all day. This place is saturated with them so not much point in putting it up here😆

Keep it?? Selling a car is always a PITA. I recently went through a wobbly phase of trying to sell mine but gave up and decided to keep it. It's worming its way back into my affections and I'm starting to think it's all the car I really need.

I'd love to have loads of cars, but live on a busy road with terrible parking, the Focus needs £££ spent on it, I have a company van so never really use a car and I use the bike when I'm having a day oot.. 2 grandkids due in the next few months, 2 dogs dont go in the SLK and I need the money! 

More reasons not to have it than keep it 😆

Also I prefer an MGF, but nothing compares to an X1/9...
