I get them once a year usually, a site inspection but "w expehile we're here let's have a look at this car you've MoTed" One car had been tested  (and failed) two hours earlier  when they inspected it praised me for finding a broken spring underneath the plastic cover of the pigtail  but then gave me points for a blown side repeater. It worked at the time of the test and was the side where the ramp controls are so I wouldn't have missed it.

I had a similar experience with a side repeater, i tapped it, and it started working, no more was said

The look of amazement from the younger guys at the garage when the tester got the tapley meter out and went up and down the yard to test the brakes on our 4wd was a good one.

My tester last week (who drives a Boxster) missed the fact the airbag light bulb is missing on my Boxster.

I intend to get the problem diagnosed and fixed in the not too distant future, but I wanted it on the road for the start of summer.

You maybe surprised - it's not a testable item unless it's on. 

If it's on, it's a fail. If it doesn't work at all, pass and advise! 

Since there's no obligation to list advisories, that maybe why it wasn't picked up
