Excellent! Cheers for the heads up. I've been watching them online on the ITV website but the adverts seriously get on my nerves - they also edit them to fit within the time slot. I've been thinking about buying this for ages and almost picked it up at Tesco. Sod the sound aspect, it can't be anything as piss poor as the invariable sound quality on my Professionals DVD's.

It's also the version without the three films, but it's cheap enough to buy them separately. I've already bought the whole lot so it's too late for me. I think I paid £40 for series 1. I can highly recommend it. Obviously it's good for spotting shite and future household names, but even without that it's very watchable. The chemistry between Thaw and Waterman helps but it's well produced and scripted too.

If anyone wants all 4 series in AVI format I can help you out

Ta for that, ordered them. Also got the full remastered Professionals as it was only £30. Will stop me working on my car for the forseeable future.....

Does anyone else prefer watching these on TV than DVD? I've got loads of boxsets but haven't really watched them, I only really watch this type of thing when it's on the telly.

Sweeney box set looks a winner. I bought the version with the films and pilot for about 30 quid from HMV a couple of years ago. Not a place I'd normally shop at, but I'd got 20 quid of vouchers to spend. It comes with a few John Thaw extras: Thick as Thieves: The Homecoming, Special Branch: Stand And Deliver, Wild Boys, Strange Report Report 2475: When A Man Hates, Redcap: It's What Comes After, The 1976 Morecambe & Wise Christmas Show, various interviews and pdfs of some of The Sweeney Annuals.

This year I've got 20 quid to spend at WH Smith. Alas, they're in-store only but I'm hoping they'll be able to get me this Ronnie Barker collection Porridge, Open All Hours, Clarence the works :D
