Not many left nowadays, especially early ones like that. I quite fancy one for my next everyday motor. Honda-engined 213s are a better bet, I think the 216 had their fair share of engine problems.Notice the strategically placed bush in the ad for the cream one so you can't see the state of the rear arches which were particularly prone to rot :lol:

I learned to drive in a 216S which had the Austin Rover S Series engine from the Montego, with a rip-snorting 86BHP. I also passed my test in it. It was a lovely motor. My bezzie mate had a 213 and got fed up of me leaving him for dead.Many years later, I bought a Vitesse model, with an EFi version of the same engine. I never had a problem with either of the S Series, but said mate had issues with his weird Hitachi (!) carburettor on the 1342cc 12-valve.Been driving Rovers ever since (18 years)

Always had a soft spot for Rovers. I wonder when the Streetwise will fall into Autoshittists priceing range?
