Gist of it is: Bloke hassles dealer until they agree to sell him the 'advert' car parked outside. Bloke finds it's in almost perfect running order and just needs a master cylinder. Bloke then drives around with all the decals on it as a two-fingered salute to Scrappage.

It seems to now be for sale too, anyone fancy it?

Think this was on eBay a week or two back wasn't it?Good effort though.

thats been on ebay, but the reserve was something crazy like £5k!

Think it was a £1k he wanted for it, But he's kept the decals on which seems a bit strange, Still, well done to him for saving it though.

Top marks to that fella for badgering the dealer to sell it to him. I passed a (Ford) dealer in Newport the other day and they had a red MK1 Mondeo stuck up on ramps infront of the forecourt with "I AM WORTH 2KZ 2 DUMB FUKZ", "GR8 DEALZ OFFERD" and bootmarks all over it. You could see that it was clean and tidy underneath the stickers, 'till the YTS monkey boys were told to kick the shit out of it  Even Ma Jetronic commented on how degrading it was to parade said Mondy out front for the world to see. I, myself would drive that Vdub round with "SCRAP THE SCRAPPAGE", "SCRAP LABOUR" and "BEEP IF YOU'RE HORNY" LOLZ11!!!!11

Ironically, it probably was the ones who did the YTS back in the day that would do the deed here....

WHY did he keep the exact same signs on it though? I would have added SCRAP THE across them. This is just another advert for the scrapage now, and it's out on the streets to make matters worse, not just outside a dealer's

Its not an 'advert for scrappage' at all, I think its pretty cool. I'd be most amused to see a stickered-up 'scrappage refugee' chug past, coughing out toxins and poping and farting its way up the road with steamed-up windows, that would brighten up my day a lot and I would offer NUFF ERSPKZ 2 the driver..Bit salty for me at 100 tenners though!

He remove the one on the rear window and replaced it with "scrap the scrappage scheme" but I agree - it's like a rolling advert to take up the scheme

i noticed this about the rear screen too, but he only did that cos he couldn't see out of it.

What's this look like if not an advert for the crappage scheme?

I quite like the idea of having a fully stickered-up scrappage scheme car, but many years after, when it's a distant memory.

I also like the idea of driving around in an old car all priced-up in a local motor trader style with a huge price in the window and some irrelevant static cling stickers - low-miles, finance available, etc. Also make the price what it would have been in around 1992.

In fact, our old next door neighbour did something similiar with his television - he'd bought it about a decade ago, but the corner of the screen was still obscured by a 5-inch sticker proudly boasting "Nicam Stereo" and "Fastext", etc.

It'll look quite cool in say five years or so when it very obviously has survived scrappage.

Bit salty for me at 100 tenners though!

He gave a grand for it!:shock::shock:

No I think that's what he's selling it for, or am I wrong?
