NEC Classic 2009 - Wot, No Amazons?

Going back a few years (about 5 or 6) it was always the case that clubs could get a stand FOC. If you wanted electricity, carpets and so on then it got expensive but the stand itself was free. I organsised the ROC stand for a couple of years and that was certainly the case back then. The problem was actually getting one as there was always a waiting list.I'd be amazed if they are actually charging clubs over £1k per car as surely very few clubs would / could justify attending on that basis.

That sounds a bit like when I helped organise a stand at the Alexandra Palace show a few years ago. Stand was free but any add ons were expensive. I too can't see many clubs especially the smaller ones being able to stump up thousands for a one off show. They'd never get any of the money back through new memberships and what else would be in it for them?

Exactly Seth. Incidentally, 2CVGB was power-free this year. The LED twinkle lights were battery powered! A wise move.

As the treasurer of a club that has exhibited for years I can confirm that the stand is free and you just pay through the nose for anything from the NEC.
