BLOODY HELL!!! No wonder 25 V6ts are just about extinct! Had no idea it's such a sought after engine and box. Assuming they're not all going into GTAs, but into kit cars, surely there must be other engine/box combos that would do the job as well, if not better?

I think there are more choices but the gearbox is a proven strong box,and the Turbo is a good punch of power,of course people don,t track down GTA,S for the engine/box as its to expensive, but the remaing few 25Turbos where a much better bet,not anymore though,as they are so rare that anyone who has got one thats a bit tatty must know its better the sell the running gear instead of selling the car complete?.

She's mine! :D Many thanks to Lankytim for dragging it all the way to the Flatlands and to Mr Bollox for the use of the A-frame. True autoshite heros. We used the A-frame to drag-start it into life and it was so smooth and quiet I couldn't really believe that it was running! It still doesn't start - not so much as a click, so any advice appreciated there. Like where relays may live...Feels like it's going to need a clutch before too long and it still needs a RH front window glass (anyone?) but I'm dead chuffed. The remote central locking even works! Plan is to get it into use as soon as I can and see how it compares with the BX...

Yaaaaay! Another save! And I don't even want a reno.

Cripes. Update time!At long last, I managed to get daarn saaarf to collect a starter motor and window glass from Mr Reno. Many thanks Paul! So, today, I first did battle with the starter - a right pain as some of the bolts holding the undertray in place have seized in place and access from above is impossible. With the tray bent down, I could just about get in and in that delightful manner that causes hideous cramps in your hands, managed to get everything undone. New starter was tricky to fit, but got there in the end. Nervously I hooked up the battery pack but no joy. Turns out my wife had flattened it the day before when tinkering with her Mini...So, BX fired up and positioned for a jump. Connect everything up, turn the key, churn, churn and away she goes! Celebrated with a brief drive up the lane at the back of our houses. Clutch bite is still high and the pedal is noticably higher than the others too. Clutch on the way out or just in need of adjustment? With her running, I could finally evict the 2CV again and get the brown beast into the garage. Good timing as it had started to rain. I've now pulled off the door trim, removed all the broken glass and am about to try and fit the new window. With that done, I can finally start to think about MoT.

Today's action. Out with the old window. What's left of it...

Renault enjoys some garage time, complete with dehumidifer, after many months outside. Mini may have to be next as there's more water inside it than there is in the whole of Cambridgeshire.*
