i was actually sorry that you didn't know so much about new cars.its actually more people using savings because they are still scared of the ripples in the banking world. dunno why though most banks are safeish nowadays and i would like them to take finance as i get paid more.i don't know anybody that has won the lottery but many have.

ah so thats what to do with my £20k saveings i wondered what i was doing wrong,so i should really be putting it into some new metal box that will lose more than half off it in a couple off years rather than makeing a few bob. well i never i was wondering just how to dispose off it before the tax man getts his greedy eyes on it  some people just have no comon sence at all when it comes to money.

anything from somebody in the family using their old 106 to buy the grand bairn their first new car to the 60 year old trading in his owned from new golf vr6,pics to follow next week when it comes in if interested.57 reg corsa is now the same price as a new one due to the scrappage prices.and yes we still sell those aswell162 retail sales last month, not counting motab.7 of us here so we are not a huge garage.

Why would someone buy nearly new when they can buy new for the same money?

exactly ,show me a savings account that pays any decent interest and i will move some money into it.

Why would someone buy nearly new when they can buy new for the same money?when they find out their trade in does not qualify for scrappage and/ or they have a set budget.

Fiatdaft will know better but I'd be willing to bet that the 'don't buy new, you'll lose £627,000 the moment you drive off the forecourt' mentality is probably part of their mindset.

yeh but my point was that after two years it would be sightly more than 20k with a poor intrest rate not cut in half by the loss in the cars value.

No it isn't. The dealers advertise as if that were the case but it isn't.

sorry we changed the prices due to the turn of the year, its now 08/58 corsa life 1.0 3 door in solid colours.and 08 corsa sxi 1.2 3 door,£200 less than a new one.and 08 zafira exclusive 28 k miles,8988 + roadtaxor a new on with scrappage and loyalty 8995 plus first reg fee and road tax.do you want me to keep going?

Because the buyer contributes £2000 in the form of their old car. Without the old car there is no £2000. It's been pointed out many times that the £2000 comes from the government and the manufacturer and goes the dealer IF the buyer says it can, the dealer has no right to take account of that money in the advertised price, but they all do.

they have every right to, and we sell cars for thousand below list how cheap do you want them?ok trade yer old car in for the second hand zafira,in some cases it just covers the road tax.
