Morris pickup

Spotted this beauty in Barnstaple today, it's badged as a Morris, does that make it a rarity? as I've only ever seen Austin badged versions before...It's also still being used commercially in connection with a building reclaimation business....

they built them over here until 1972...confusing cos they came with more "modern interiors"...about 800 quid for a good one just now here in NZ

Morris badged A60 commercials are fairly rare. They come from that "can't quite decide" period around the BMC/BL changeover which also gave us the Austin badged Minor van!

Good spot!I've not spent much time around the South West, other than in Barnstaple. This was around 7-8 years ago but seem to remember quite a lot of shite around there, particularly in an area my friend nicknamed 'The Ghetto'.

I know where there is one of these, just sitting in a barn, with a Mk2 Transit minibus with twin hinged side doors on one side, I think it's a single wheel SWB, a Yugo 45 with Uno Turbo bits, a couple of Cortinas, a Mk1 Mini, Honda S600 or 800, and various other things I can't remember. I want the Morris and the Transit. But Fred could have the Transit...I believe it's on a B plate, and used to belong to a church...............one careful owner?

I'd love to see the log book for this vehicle! I was born in Barnsaple & my late Dad had one of these in the early 1970's, which he used for carting round heating equipment and welding kit etc. I was only a kid so can't remember the reg. number (it WAS a long time ago!) but I can't believe there are THAT many of them around, particularly in Barnstaple (Barum to the locals!) Bloody good spot!!!Andrew353w
