Abandoned Car Sales

Wow! I'd be interested in the Carina. Always wanted one.

Shame about the Rover in Swadlincote. I have alloys but not the right ones. Always wanted to buy it but never had spare funds ever. Now it look a bit late to be interested :(

Tidy looking hatch for sale on FB Marketplace ATM for £750. Quite salty bit it might be good.

If anybody is seriously interested in rescuing one of the cars near Swadlincote. I'd be happy to lend a hand to help pull a car out etc.

There use to be other cars on the site as mentioned that have been sold in the last 5/6 years I'd say. There also use to be a R reg Clio base in Met Green that I was told had sub 15,000 miles on back in the early 00's. Think that stood for over 5 years at the top bay past the Cav before selling. There was also a Belmont bellow the Cav that sold before the majority of the other cars sold.

From memory until the last 5/6 years there was;

70's Green VW Beetle

K reg White Renault Master minibus.

J reg Maroon Lada Samara 3dr

C reg Yellow Metro City 5dr

C reg Yellow Astra Mk2 Merit 3dr

F reg Silver Astra Belmont L.

The other garage looks like most of those cars would easily drive away!

Think the Omega, Frontera, Arena, 740 and Carina if I could for me.

Be great if someone takes any of them on though.

I remember the yellow Astra.

It always seemed an odd place for a sales pitch to me, it's hidden away in a housing estate & you only ever find it by accident.

That Cavalier looks well worth saving, been kept in the dry so the body will be solid, doesn’t look as if it’s been fucked about with. Mechanically they are a doddle to put right, guessing it’s a 1.6 Family 4 in it?

It's actually a 1.4 for maximum mingebaggery.

Isn’t the guy asking silly money on them? I thought that was the main reason they are still there.

Y'know, there's a silver Belmont that drives past me most days on my commute.  I'll have to check the reg...

EDIT: Ok the one that used to be in this garage is not on the database.  D650 FTC.

Oh well.

That Maestro is something I'd love to save if I had the space and spare funds. You only ever see the MG ones now, but an auto like that would be a nice thing to bumble around in. A neighbour had one when I was a kid and it always seemed a pretty competent car, even if a bit dated feeling compared to some of the competition. Don't recall them having any particular issues with it aside from rust - but let's face it, wasn't that true of most cars from the mid 80s?

Don't have much to bring to the table really in the grand scheme of things, but I'm roughly 60 miles away from Swadlincote according to Google Maps...Happy to lend a pair of hands if it would be helpful, and could probably be persuaded to throw a few quid into a jar to help things along...Possibly even a stopover point for the car for a few days/couple of weeks but it couldn't be permenant.

I've a pretty good history with getting stubborn cars which have been sitting in scrapheaps for years actually running to some extent when raiding them for bits for previous farmyard mutant mechanical creations, if that's any use!

Mods, any chance of merging the Swadlincote posts on here into the actual Swadlincote thread? Or will the continuem transfunctioner break?
