sporty-shite Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 2009 to start with.... This was bought as a cheap runner to save it from the bridge. This one had been laid up in stirage, where it stayed for a number of years before going across to Eire. And of these, one got sold in a strop after a disastrous week away in the rain somewhere around the Scottish borders, and the other I just got bored with!.

Spottedlaurel Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 A good reminder of a few cars I remember from the olden days. And one or two that I didn't know that people who I know now used to own (if that makes sense). Took a bit of working out, but this is what I had in January 2009: Found this photo which neatly shows them all. D-reg Laurel was for spares by this time, had been my daily driver but was always a tatty old heap. It hung around for quite a few years, gradually being thinned out until there was just a shell to get rid of, still got the engine under a tarp on the driveway. Carina E was family transport, mainly driven by Mrs SL. Bluebird was my everyday transport, bought unseen off eBay for something like £295 BIN from a rather camp postman. Other Laurel had only just been purchased a month or so beforehand. January 2019: Datsuns on the prom by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Laurel still with me, I think the longest I've ever owned a car, now joined by the 1200. 1988 Nissan Sunny 1.6LX 5dr (N13) by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr I wish I still had the Bluebird above, but this Sunny is of similar vintage, sold new by the same dealer and makes for a good substitute. 1993 Toyota Camry 2.2 Estate by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr This old thing is still with me, much to Mrs SL's disappointment. Was in very regular use until recently. Camry Saloon donates another part by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr This one has replaced the Laurel as driveway ornament/source of spares. My latest daily driver, only picked it up last weekend. 2010 Toyota Auris TR Valvematic 1.6 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr And Mrs SL drives this thing. Semi-C and Sir Snipes 2
