If it's any help, my first car was a Vauxhall Chevette, a GLS 4 door & it cost me £150 TPF&T.

I'm guessing underwriting tables haven't changed that much, so it's probably still a fair bet.

Best thing to do when they have passed their test is spend the money you would waste on insurance on a ticket to New Zealand and a working holiday visa, car insurance is cheap there and uk companies will accept NZ no claims should they be foolish enough to return.

I learnt in a K11. My instructor gave it to his daughter (a friend of mine) when he upgraded, without removing the dual controls... one of my friends was banned from the front passenger seat after slamming on the brakes too many times...
