Steering column knuckle do you grease yours

Yesterday I thought I would throw on a new set of leads on my E36 as it’s been running a bit lumpy and while I had the coil pack out I could see the steering joint was bone dry and wondered if it’s worth covering it in a bit of grease.

 

The old car isn’t going anywhere in a hurry as it’s been sitting in the garage for the last 8 months covered in boxes but it will be dragged out for winter duties.

the grease will be sealed inside , I would leave it alone as the grease will only attract dirt which will wear the seals ...
