Hello all.

 

I had an attempted break in Monday night at the batcave, they didn't manage to enter the building but they had a damn good crack at it meaning I'll need new doors and had to spend yesterday securing the unit and beating the current door so I can get it shut and re-locked.

 

The batcave is in a pretty remote location which I rarely share.  I've been in there 5 years with zero bother.  Two other sites on the estate have similar doors to mine and were not targetted, and the near by Landrover specialist wasn't touched.  I was targetted.

 

Either, someone passing saw what I had and fancied it, or I was targetted because of a shared image location.

 

I'm usually very careful when I take pictures online, I switch off tagging etc.  I recently changed my device and didn't do this. 

 

When you take a digital picture, the EXIF data will show the location of that picture if you have the right services enabled.

Please check your device settings and any photo sharing sites you use to host them, as I'd not want anyone on here loosing stuff as a result of them wanting to share their enthusiasm and work with the forum.

I'm not very clued up on this kind of thing but I was led to believe from a recent thread that pictures posted on here don't show location? Obvs that doesn't apply to some other forums.

 

ETA. That's really bad luck Dave, I hope you get it sorted quickly and at reasonable cost.

If there is any signage or signed vehicles in photos etc you don't have to be secret squirrel to work out location so great care is needed etc. I have recently had my house in France burgled twice so I know how it feels.
