Can't get it up! Waja window woe

What goes buzz, clunk, rattle? My front passenger side window!

As the title says, my window failed to go up on my Impian (after making a lot of noise). I have had the door card off and the sheet of plastic which holds the motor is broken in several places, Inc window motor mount.

Has anyone changed a regulator in an Impian? I can't get the plastic out, seems stuck near the middle but with no obvious fastener. Will give local dealer a call tomorrow but expecting expensive or not available (as is the heat shield under the sump which I might try to repair). Sent a message to a company on eBay who seem to ship Proton parts straight from Malaysia to the UK, does anyone have any experience of doing such things? Presumably post will be a lot as replacements I have seen on Malaysian websites use a metal sheet instead of plastic, and it is a good percent of the size of the door card.

Any help, advice, pointers or anything would be appreciated.

Remarkable coincidence - I've been dealing with a similar issue on the Audi recently, albeit one caused by the failure of a £3 plastic clip. Doesn't sound like I can offer a great deal to help you here, but I do have some fantastic white tea on the go...

This is presumably the failure of a £3 plastic panel, which the motor and everything is mounted too. Unlike the Audi though, suspect supply of parts could be an issue. There is a grand move and a lancer on here, might be better bets?

Re tea, glad you are enjoying.

There are similar parts for other proton models on eBay - don’t suppose there is a way to cross ref to see if any other models in the range use standard parts such as this one? Or whether they were massively popular in Holland or South Africa in case those market stocks offer more plentiful supply?

Poor car, now I am upset. Mind you, If I could get it to Essex I could make a lovely one out of the two. Might give them a call, will see if any of the emails I have sent come back fruitful first, as the replacement is metal and not plastic

Alrite m8 how much 2 post 2 Ingland?https://www.mudah.my/Power+Window+motor+Gear+FR+Fit+Proton+Waja-37194945.htm

Malaysia seems to be a good place to find bits for some reason

This is something I am looking in to. I guess stuff is just cheaper out there, it is where the car comes from, and they actually sold enough to warrant pattern parts.

Whereabouts in Essex are you Andrew?

Hence being outside the gates. Though the Proton was mistaken for a Saab once, so that would have been a step closer.

You must be the only resident who knows how to use a computer!

Last time I went there I was half expecting an elderly guard to demand sight of my pension book before allowing me in to see my solicitor

You never know, this may go cheap and also has a non functioning window! (Albeit a rear one)

Another one as a donor might have to be an option. Not sure where to go with the supply of parts being not so good and a 70mile round commute to work, I am heavily dependant on my car, and envious of anybody who can go to a breakers yard or motor factor and be provided with XYZ part easily. There are aspects of my French cars I miss.

That said, this looks fun ...

out of the frying pan and in to the fire and all that (or is it entirely Mitsubishi underneath?) Hijacking my own thread by being a little off topic.
