In my experience, all wheelie bins are manufactured entirely of plastic, except for the spindle for the wheels.

 

Getting a healthy patina of surface rust on the underside of the lid suggests a lifelong commitment to the ruination of physical things.

Update.

 

This old tub is going to another local norf east shitter for life extending drive shaft work and further use.

 

It will be A: Fixed and B: kept in the fold, so thats great news all round.
