The front bumper looks very MK1 sierra like, but im not too sure, any way you can get the images bigger?

Because now i dont think it is a sierra at all, ahahah

I have no idea what it is, but its not a Mk1 Sierra for sure as they never had sidelights in the front bumper only indicators. The Ghia and XR did have fogs and indicators in the bumper but they were a totally diffrent shape to whats in the picture.

Yep, i realised that as soon as the pictures got biggerhaving just looked at bumper trim for alot of 70/80s carsit does look to be 131, im trying to find a cutaway for it, but no luck.

actually could it be a yugo?It shares simularities with the 128.This might have been stolen and dumped?I know its in a bog, but look at the wear to the outside edge of the tyre, hello speeding round corners!

Posted

true actually, im thinking more 131.Did you get a look at the wheel within the tyre?if there was anything left of course.

Fiat 125 or FSO......The 131 had a steering rack and one piece track control arms....This has bolt up lower balljoints and a three piece track rod system, suggesting a recirculating ball steering box, therefore Fiat 125/FSO...............maybe Lada? Is the hub visible in any other pictures you might have?

I can't be sure it's off the same car, no.Cheers for that Albert Ross, super Fiat-based products anorak skills.:) I don't have any more photos that would be useful.

It's not info, it's a guess!!!! I was trawling exploded diagrams this morning, and the 131 has a rack and bottom arm set up like a Mk2 Escort or Sierra, the 125 has the recirc setup and three track rods like a Carlton, but also has tie bars and ARB like the 128, not the flat bottom arm like the Carlton. Was it a 4 or 5 stud wheel/hub?

I'm thinking Polonez for the bumper, which ties in with Albert's Fiat 125 theory.

They rusted spectacularly. I looked at an A plater in 1990 and there wasn't a single bit of the sills that you couldn't push a finger through. That would explain where the rest of it's gone.

Good work Richard, I think that's as close as we're going to come to solving it, unless I go back for more detailed photos. That 3-door looks quite racy...

FSOs don't survive very well in the Western Isles
