I'm going to pass on my Horizon, not because I don't like it, but because the Mazda is going to be off the road for a bit and I don't trust a 27 yr old anglo/french car as a daily!

I haven't sorted the clicking driveshaft yet, but you never know, I might get around to it soon!

It has T&T until 31/12/09

Lots of little grubby bits, but the engine it great, if a little underpowered.

Its a bit too slow for me TBH.

Gearbox is erm - interesting. Not sure if its just a Talbot thing, but it's a bit vague.

I'm not putting on any airs and graces, this is truly a horrific car, but loveable!

What do you reckon it is worth? £450? (I know - ha ha ha)

Make an offer, or if you have something to swap, just ask!

Would love it, but I have the world's most unsaleable car, a broken Alfa, a knackered Bedford and a French car as my daily!

Is that a mounting point?

TBH, I haven't a clue what I am looking for!

I think they were required by law at that point. Old VWs had them in the rear by 1964 so I reckon you're laughing by 1981.Laughing until you drive it

Is the Mazda the longest car you've kept?Is it a problem specifically Anglo-French? My faith is in a 26 yr old Franco car travelling 50 miles a day, 5 days a week, am I insane therefore? Of course bits need attending to now & then, don't they in all cars? But inbetween times it's been faithful. Before the 26 yr old R9, I used the then 28/29 yr old R14 for over 2 years as my daily & only roadworthy vehicle which was even less problematic than the R9!

"Renault. Utterly Reliable Between Breakdowns"

Edit. Knew I'd seen that somewhere before!! :)

Stupid car wouldn't start this morning! Now is a good time to offer me something stupid and turn up with a trailer (or suitable knowledge)I'd just lent the Mazda to a friend while his car was in the garage (MG ZS) , so I had to get a Taxi into work!Grrr.

I have done some moar research. Rear belts could be specified from the options catalogue. NNNNG. Anyone want to volunteer a-framage for me?

I'll A-frame it, if you can source a frame!

Nice, my dad had a Horizon i remember it well because we once went up a steep ( not that steep ) hill and had to turn around because it wouldnt make it up !

The not starting thing shouldn't be too serious, i checked with a plug lead off and there was no spark, and when I tried to take off another lead - it disintegrated in my hand. I reckon it maybe just needs various ignition parts replacing, as it looks t have been neglected. ... However - I will not spend any more time or money on it!07943 822709 for any queries, as I won't be online for a while.

Cant help with the a-frameage i'm afraid as my A is in disappointingly regular use at the moment, got 2 new heaps of shite to repatriate and my existing ones are giving a lot of aggro too.

I must have got a good'un then cos it really wasn't that bad. Can't recall having the AA out more than about twice in 2 yrs...
