Should add I’ve had several dTurbo models, best being a silver H plate five door with PAS, sunroof, everything ticked that I rescued for £275 in 2004. Sorted it out fully then sold it to a friend whose wife nicknamed it ‘The stealth Porsche’. They loved it until someone rear ended it at some roadworks going past Stonehenge.

 

I also put a tweaked BX turbo engine in my 1.6GTI that had a terminal engine failure. Lots of (different) fun, until the non-sticky P6000 tyres caught up with me. Resulted in a 60+mph crash involving first two trees then a 150yd slide down the road on its roof, thankfully not dropping the 10ft off the road into a field or any oncoming traffic.

Glad to hear you’ve got something sorted. I was all ready to do a 600 mile round trip after slinging my a-frame in the van, so bear me in mind if it all goes belly-up. I will complete the deal in the event it does. Cheers.
