Audi ABS Woes....

Yes broken wire, sensor damaged, or duff connector. Do you have any of the old sensors left? Try plugging it in, clearing the code and see if it comes back.

You're 100% right SiC, I connected up and old one and it had no problem with that - for a brief and glorious moment the abs light event went out!

Thanks to everyone on this thread for their help!

Yes open circuit is a broken wire, remember, these things sit outside for 15 years going over bumps, through puddles, over kerbs etc, they have a tough time.

Follow the wiring back as far as you can, if you are competent with a multimeter, you should be able to test it from as far back as possible to see where the fault lies, if not, what's at you located? I travel between Swansea and Swindon every week and I've got a unit share in Hungerford, if your anywhere near there, call in and I'll fix it for you for free, I had to do the same on the Leon, soldered back together and heat shrinker, no further issues!!!

I will get the multimeter out over the weekend - not sure how I can measure continuity to the sensor though?

Thank you for your kind offer of helping to mend it, but Hungerford is a good couple of hours from me, and the audi is untaxed and unmot'd!

thanks,

Don’t back feed the loom on the car with the meter until it’s disconnected from the modulator
