sopaz Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 It is no longer this clean! Afternoon all, don't post much but lurk occasionally - my last car sale on here was shite, cheap, but a bit boring... Hopefully this new one is a bit more interesting? TL;DR: Anyone want a fast shed? I need to sell my 9-5 HOT Aero as I'm moving abroad with work and haven't found suitable storage. I was going to either keep it or sort various things and aim to get ~ £600 for it, but I've now moved out of my house, have no access to a driveway or tools etc. (or even somewhere to wash it!) and just haven't got the time. So a healthy discount is available if it sells in the next 10 days... Long post: It's a Silver 2002 9-5 HOT Aero Manual Saloon. Reg is AF52 VZD 167k miles. Black leather interior in good condition. It's a good spec with electric everything - Memory seat, heated front and rear seats, Satnav etc. Centre console is cracked though. Bodywork is pretty clean - no major dings or dents. It does have some hairline cracks in the paint on the front bumper where the missus hit a parking pole (also cracked the numberplate). Front splitter is cracked in a few places and held up with cable ties, both front fog lights are broken, minor rust blemishes on the bottom corner of the back wheel arch, and rusty fuel cap. Has a windscreen chip that has been repaired and has passed several MOTs. Has a tow bar. Wheels in pretty good condition, painted gunmetal grey with only minor curbing. Rear tyres in good condition, fronts are Toyos but are a bit old and starting to crack and sag so could do with replacing at some point. Engine runs well, I've changed the oil twice a year while I've had it. Have a receipt from 2013 for a sump drop. It currently has a cheap cone air filter fitted and is thus a bit noisy, but comes with the original airbox (which needs a minor repair as it was rattling in the wheel arch, hence putting in a cone filter). I've recently replaced the plugs and fuel filter. Comes with spare rear disks, doesn't need them doing but they were cheap... Some important points to note: MOT runs out 23 November 2017. I've done something like 3 or 4k miles in the past year so not had much use, and I can't image it'll need much if anything to pass. The xenon headlight leveling warning light sometimes comes on, so that may need addressing. Needs subframe bushes doing. These aren't an MOT fail but it does need sorting at some point. Can point to a great Saab specialist in Sheffield who does modified bushes that are easier to fit. It's dirty inside and out (but cleans up well!) Only one key but remote locking works fine. Battery weak, but never failed to start Temp gauge reads slightly over half way when running. Presume its a sender issue as never overheated and fans kick in fine (was totally fine in central London traffic in 30C July summer days.) Aircon doesn't work (this was not good in London traffic when its 30 degrees out) The passenger side heater servo is dead, so it's either all hot or all cold (currently cable tied in place on the cold setting). It's MOT'ed, Taxed and Insured so can be driven away. I'm leaving the country on the 12 November, so a cheap car is available to someone who can offer me a stress and hassle free sale, and collect it on 11 November from the S10 area of Sheffield. Feel free to insult me with offers! Cheers,
Hertz Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Bargain, my dad just sold his recently exact same colour, spec, year and mileage. Think he got £950 for it. The manuals seem to be more wanted that the Auto's. GLWTS!
sopaz Posted November 2, 2017 Author Posted November 2, 2017 Cheers! They are brilliant cars. I averaged about 3 cars a year before getting this, but I've ended up keeping it for almost 2 years! If it was an estate I would be paying for storage... Please note it is not mint and is in no way worth 950, but its generally a solid car that hasn't let me down.
Guest Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 HNNNggg.. Much want. Just spent the insurance money on fixing the Polo- could have had this.. and I'm off on the 11th.

sierraman Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 You’ll be lucky to see £80 driving it in to the breakers. Does it have to go by Saturday or something?

Bucketeer Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 You’ve got a PM.I hope to god Claire doesn’t open this thread. If you just want this short term Neil I could very easily be persuaded to take it off you at the end of the month when I get paid. The Moog 1
The Moog Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 If you just want this short term Neil I could very easily be persuaded to take it off you at the end of the month when I get paid.I may have said similar
Bucketeer Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 ^^^^ You possibly need it even less than I do. First come, first served though. And I could easily wait 'til you get bored of it and sell it on to me for a loss.
NorthernMonkey Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Excuse me, ladies. Form an orderly queue... Looks perfect* for autotests.Hmm. Interesting thought.
