Blimey, where'd that huge slag heap go? Did they just level it out a bit?

I gotta be honest - I think cooling towers look fantastic.....I'm also interested in any large scale industrial stuff that is disused.

They levelled the top of the slag heap off many years before they shut the power station down, and then demolished it. Token effort to please the environmentalists I think :)

I know what you mean. The 2 iconic ones at the side of the M1 opposite Meadowhall are due for demolition any day now I believe. Rather sad.
