Citreon breakdown conversion

Well, I've seen more, but I'm having trouble finding any info... other than firms that would like to transport your DS for you, or sites telling me a DS would make great daily transport. Sometimes I hate google. And /or my inability to come up with better search terms.

They look like Tissier conversions, though they could also be home-brewed (for inspiration, check Andy Saunders' Asorta Transporta ).

 

I'm afraid I don't know much more about the cars or the fate of the company, though.

Yup, I'd go for Tissier too - made some amazing DS high-capacity vans as well. Amazing machines.Was that first shot taken in the UK? Not seen one on these shores.

My mate, Dominique says it steers like a whale, 3 point turns on roundabouts, 6- 8mpg, and brakes- what brakes....

I dont know why these things are such cult machines, they cant fail to be anything other than dire 'in operation'. If you didnt know about Tissier and you saw one on eBay you'd think 'Why TF havent VOSA condemned that??'

Quite true, but they do look kind of cool. :-)You'd be better off with a normal beavertail transit or similar, but where's the fun in that?

Have to say I agree with you there! They look horrible, not really that much better than some half-arsed pickup truck based off an old BMW 5-series. Send them to the dustbin!

They do look horrible, and this is exactly why I would be extremely happy to own one !I can really imagine myself going around in a rusty Tissier SM 'Milles Pates'... I would park it in the middle of the poshest neighbourhood and proceed to knock on people's doors, asking if they want to sell the Audi/BMW/Benz on their driveway for scrap. For extra shock points, I would grow a bushy moustache, wear mucky overalls and a beret, fake an outrageous accent and stink of Pernod and Gitanes Brunes

I got passed by a CX ambulance avec six wheels on the M1 a couple of years back. I was tonking along in my nail of a B3 Passat GT wagon at 80 in the middle lane and at passed me like I was standing still. LEGEND. It looked scary from an engineering perspective.
