Any motorcycle MOT testers on here?

The braided hoses I have for the busa have alumiuium banjos - is this still an MOT fail? I am aware that they can corrode and fail.

according to vosa here - http://www.rgv250.co.uk/forums/topic/47747-aluminium-brake-hose-fittings/ it isn't a failure.  but whether that info has been filtered down to the testing stations over the last 5 years is unknown.....

particularly:

 

When testing motorcycles, fitted with replacement brake hoses with anodised alloy banjo fittings, give close attention to the union nuts, as all alloy fittings are not recommended for road use.

note, not RECOMMENDED.  not an automatic fail

Are they kits? If so can you buy stainless banjos to use instead?

 

I can text the tester I use but if the rules are in the VOSA manual I would just print them and confirm with the tester before they start.

They are goodridge items. If I was using the bike all year round then obviously there is an issue but to be honest it is restriced to summer use on nice days.

Yes.I was a bike tester,and no, not a fail, but have seen them leak at the washers so get a good check. Daylight MOT's Rat bikes and trikes were fun....not.

Have they ever been a fail? My brother had a'95 zx9 that was failed for this reason.

I don't ever remember them being a fail, just always a side note.
