Here is this weekend's trip in the Rover.  So far, half way around the loop, and the Rover does indeed seem the obvious choice for driving a long way on fast roads in hot weather.

The A140 has a 50 limit along most of it. I expect to see that you have done at least double that on the Autobahn when you go to Germany.

 

I second the calls for you to take the SD1, along with a collection of New Wave hits for driving at high speed to.

Bits of the A12 yesterday had no cameras and no cozzers, and not much traffic.  I am just saying.

The A12 twixt Chelmsford & Colchester yesterday afternoon was utterly fucked up, due to a Firstbus Dennis Tridump bus deciding it wanted to be an inferno instead. I hate ye oldie A12 from Woodbridge northwards, as you do often get stuck behind something, you can get your boot down on the Wickham Market bypass section though, I didn't hit 100 along there in the Favorit once, honest guv

Got back home just in time to greet StillOrange in a campervan.   The Rover behaved itself all weekend.    I think that I might get it some new tyres before I go to Berlin in it.

Local tyres dude has some Dunlops that will fit - very apt for ye olde Brit cars.
