Peugeot 205 x2 - finally lost the plot

Some people have gambling addictions, some it's the drink. But I have a habit of buying cars that stink!

 

In the latest shock (not) tale of me completely losing all grasp of the reality that I'm going on Honeymoon on Sunday and that funds are limited, I went to look at not one, but a brace of Pug 205 today. Usual scenario, bargain, mental if you don't buy them kinda self reasoning.

 

The story is that in the process of having a glass of Rioja (translate: the whole bottle) looking at shite cars on Scumtree was the deemed to to be the wisest course of action.

 

Behold before thyne eyes, a brace of Peugeot 205's.

 

1x 1996N 1.1XL phase 2 with 100k and a tap up the arse

1x 1987D 1.8GLD phase 1 with 81k, knackered interior, smoky, but totally rot free underneath, not a spec of rust.

 

Sod it. Booked in a visit for today and girl who was selling was even gracious enough to remove the ad until I had viewed.

 

Verdict:

1.1XL had been hit in rear by CRV and had done the tailgate (replacement fitted). Back panel is creased but I reckons it would go again with a bit of Fettling with a powerpack. Otherwise car is mint.

 

1.8GLD is a different kettle of fish. Starts first time but smokes like a bastard. Have it on good authority that it probably hasn't seen fresh oil or filters since jack were ah lad! The tricky bit is the following.

 

It has been used for years as a van to move tyre between depots so has no rear seats, headlining is filthy (would clean though) glovebox missing and surround for column and heater controls is absent.

 

Nothing listed on evilbay as just part only. Does anyone have any suggestions of anyone who might be able to help. I don't want to change the dash as I quite like phase one

 

Luckily she's away Monday as well so collecshun thread for next week on Monday pending!

I was expecting some sort of two into one good one plan.

Until I saw the 3dr 5dr pictures.

 

Finding phase one bits might be a challenge but worth saving.
