atomic punk Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Anyone got any tips on how to free them off? Got some replacement doors for the XR3 and they have been stored for 20+ years, and while the hinges arent seized they are incredibly stiff. Liberally applying wd40 hasnt really helped, and i dont want to go through the pain of replacing the hinge pins... cheers!
gordonbennet Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 WD40's no bleedin good as a lube, i'd soak 'em in plus gas first, let that work in and after a few hours start working the doors gently whilst feeding more in, when freed off i find gear oil good for stuff like hinges etc cos it doesn't wash off like lighter oils, when all free a coating of grease should keep the oil doing its job. RayMK and overrun 2
overrun Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 WD40. You'd be better served if you pissed on them!
DodgeRover Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Penol reaches the places other lubes don't! It actually lubricates as well as penetrating too.
