Forgive me, for I have sinned!

I have been reading the Autoshite forums for a year now and I became addicted. Does it have that effect on other people here? Anyway, went and bought a 2002 Mondeo Estate, a 2 litre jobby and I am surprised by the insurance costs compared to my 2 litre 25 year old Rover. I have the full NCB on my Rover never had a claim in 50 years so its fairly cheap to insure. But with the Mondeo, its 3 times the cost, nobody wants to give me any discount or credit for my good driving record. I am the only driver of both cars and you must believe me when I tell you that I have found it impossible to drive both cars at once. Anybody know a way to get my insurance cost down on TPFT? Third Party Only comes up on the comparison sites as more expensive than Comprehensive.

Ramp up the excess you're willing to pay? Park it somewhere sensible? Move?

I can recommend A-Plan, they found a policy that reflected the NCB on my other car.

Always check direct line and aviva if you are using a comparison site. Direct line are V cheap on my mk1 Mondeo.

Another vote for A Plan. Exactly the same discount on a second,  "reflected",  policy as on my existing policy, but not possible to insure the No Claims discount on that second policy.

There isn't a man of God alive (nor dead, come to think of it) who can forgive you for buying a 2002 Mondeo.

I've managed to get my policy (and NCB) mirrored over onto an entirely separate new policy for a new car

I think you may be right mate. I have run out of sackcloth and ashes for today. . It just seemed like a good idea at the time!

Its a big Thumbs Down from me for A plan. Their best quote was £397. Sheilas wheels, £220.
