JESUS!!!!I,ve just had to use a whole box of tissues,i THINK i,am right in saying this is Renaults own collection as i think they have an example of almost every model ever made,is this place actually open to the public??

Caption on it says its Flins which is the factory just outside Paris I think. Don't think its often open to the public, but if it ever is, i NEED to go.

Oooooh. I've been to Citroen's equivalent. I spent so much time drooling that I almost passed out from dehydration! In fact, just thinking of it makes me go giddy...

Only one box :shock::shock::shock: I didn't realise it was quite this comprehensive a collection. There are photos on a French Renault 18 Turbo forum of Renault 18 Turbos from each model year all wrapped up just like this, with loads of other partially unwrapped Renault 18 estates around them. I didn't make any association - until now.Zikes - wonder how much houses in this neighbourhood go for? - I feel the need to move in - yesterday :D

How did you get in there? I believe that is/was another invitation only place. I remember a feature on it in C&SC a few years ago. It was exactly the same as Flins. Big warehouse full of everything they have ever made!I believe Peugeot have one too. The only time the stuff ever gets an airing is when they exhibit stuff at Retromobile in February.

Might have to 'claim' I have some terminal disease and then try and get in there. I wonder how many other manufacturers have these type of things?I bet GM doesn't - 'not cost effective'.

Went to the Renault museum in Paris about 30 years ago - on the Champs Elysee - anyone know if that's still there?

Yeh, the 'Pub Renault' is still there and is normally worth a look. Normally have something intersting in. Peugeot / Citroen is in the same area and is worth a wander as well.

Yes, GM does. Most of what they actually sold off was duplication. They've got one in the UK too - and it's having an open day this Sunday if you want an excuse (and you need one!) to visit Luton. Some lovely stuff there.Ford has an extensive museum in America and a good sized collection here and Jaguar, though cutting back a little, still has a very large collection too.
