Twitchy steering

Oh yeah, my Disco used to do that.

Soak them in WD40 & see if the problem goes away. I had to do it every six months or so.

I assume the it is not going to be driven to the south of France and back in the next few weeks, if use is minimal then don't worry and just trade it in.

I know of someone who was having trouble with the injectors on a VW Tourag and it was at the point of being more money thrown at it so it was traded in against a newer one. It was towed to round the corner of the garage then driven in and keys handed over. Nothing more was said.

I think he's more worried about his wife driving it for the next few weeks.

It doesn't sound like it is going to fall apart after the checks he has done, if it was anything serious/dangerous then I guess he would have found something of note during the checks.

That was my train of thought.

I'm stumped. If it was the rack that was faulty, why would it not pulse all the time I.e. When stationery?

I'd expect it to show up more / only show up under load.

pulsing through the steering has always been a knackered rack for me, no idea about the delay though. If it's driving straight and true then my money would be on the rack, sadly.

I'd try not to use it too much until you can trade it in. And only in a straight line if possible.

Right this got a damn good workout this afternoon as I got lost in a massive housing estate in Camelon whilst trying to find the social club that my son's party was at. Lots of turns etc have shown that it's definitely not the steering that's pulsing. That part is perfectly smooth. It feels like it's suspension related and it also pulls just a touch to the left all the time. I think either of us have hit a pot hole at some point, not thought anything of it and it's bent/upset something.

I'm going to double check the inner tyrewalls for bulges but the pulling leads me to believe it's suspension related.
