206 GTI- Shit?

See my thread for the joys of cambelt replacement on small fast Clios...

If I was of a gambling mind, and the initial expenditure was low enough, I'd risk cambelt roulette on one PROVIDED the aux belt and tensioner was replaced. (Which is a big enough job in itself)

Mine was only just due at 70k/4 years but the timing belt and pulleys were all mint, the aux belt though was fooked and when they go they tend to take the cambelt with them.

For handling and fun there's no comparison with a 140bhp 206 GTi in my opinion, I've not experienced a 180 though

I read through your thread a few days back- I take my hat off to you. Such a task is far beyond me sadly

So not massively accomplished as a hot hatch but cheap and quite fun to chuck about unlike some German hatches, I did buy it off the missus as I was quite fond of it, but after discovering the sills had gone quite frilly under the underseal and not worth welding it saw the bridge.

Just have a good look at sills though, the stone chip is quite tough so they might look intact but could be rotten.

I will just leave this here!
