Just flicked over to ITV3 and started to watch Juliet Bravo that's just started, The predecessor to The Bill. Some great old cars so far, Ratty H reg Mk2 Cortina with rotten wings crashing along the cobbles, 3 white Mk2 Escort 2 Door Police cars parked up outside the station.Old Road Runner Bedford lorry in car park, Early Saab 99 plus more Mk3 Cortinas and the like.Just looking the wikipedia and it's the first episode from 1980.

The Cortina was making some alarming noises - think it was the front wing, which was visible chattering away as it pulled up to the camera. The Escort Mk2 panda car made quite a nice sound from inside too 8)

That old 1.1 Escort sounded pretty good didn't it!Got a bit over excited when i saw the Police Rover SD1 racing to the scene with the MK2 Transit behind and then the Avenger pull up with the armed squad jump out!Nice to see the vehicles looking a bit rough and ready instead for the 70's and 80's set remakes with the mint cars you get these days.

Nice to see the old stereotypes too - the 2 doctors cars were a P6 and a Saab 99.I forgot how fit that lady copper was, too...

Look out for some more quality shite over the coming weeks - if i can recall there will be a jensen ff popping up in one of the future episodes - stephanie turner who played juliet bravo mk1 still acts and was in the bill a few years back still very recognisable as her but a few more wrinkles and blond hair - could still remember this 1st episode as if it was yesterday - sadly no val doonican show afterwards!!

Juliet Bravo is just GR8 as far as I'm concerned. It's set in an around my home town of Burnley so a lot of the scenes are recognisable.Maybe I should start doing Juliet Bravo tours of East Lancashire using an old Sherpa minibus?
