Yank stuff imported to U.K in 70s

I wonder if it was that car I saw get bangered? It was some years ago now and I can't remember who raced it but it was almost indestructible! It lasted about 3 separate banger meetings from memory! Most cars fail to see 1 meet to the end.

The guys who were selling me the bits said it was a Dutch geezer that was planning to race it.

 

I tried to buy the whole car, although to be fair, it was very rusty. They are pretty solid old buses though.  I spent a really interesting day there asking them about how they prep the cars etc.
