Ghosty Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Try changing your DOB when getting the quote and wonder no more.... Done. Saves about £5/year. Anyone fancy being a custodian...
95 quid Peugeot Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Did you have a go at what i suggested on one of your other posts, to reduce insurance, try......Put yourself down as the main driver....as you want to accrue NCB, then put 3 old twats on as ADDITIONAL drivers, they dont need to drive it, or if you mangle it their NCB isn't affected. and see what the reduction is..My friend who is in car insurance advised son#1 to do this and it reduced his premium by shedloads.
reb Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Make sure value is no higher than £200 tpft and kept on street with standard security @ 5k miles per annum. Being being none turdblower that should make it affordable! Also profession makes big differences, instead of being single and unemployed (as an example), you could massage the facts and state that you are a househusband and cohabiting. Single ppl always pay more! Have another try, I would expect around £1500 for first year or lower for this car and a new driver Changing from an IT technician to a lab technician saved me £70. Changing from the Polo to the 205 saved me another couple of hundred. It's only* £900 odd now.
Ghosty Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Chompy - just did that and it went up to £2200. Cheapest for me is fully comp on the drive. For me comp is always cheapest. £95Pug - been doing that for a while, all my quotes have both parents on there. I have this down to a tee...Strangely enough adding my aunt (a PA, mid-50s and single) puts the price up £750. The cheapest occupation for myself is 'full time student living at home'. Seeing as that's true (enrolled in university and on deferral) I don't technically have to declare any work as it only asks about part time jobs less than 16 hours a week and if I get a job it'll be more than that.
