I thought this was going to be a cheap weekend

How wrong was I.

 

The vitesse needed it's tyres pumped up before we went out to the scrapyard to pick up some spares for our 3 rover 75s.

As soon as I saw the cracks in the tyres I said I need some new rubber.

 

As I had a bit of spare money I decided on good ones.

got to the garage at 11.40 and didn't get out till 2.15.

They were not bust but it still took them 2 hours and 30 minutes to change 5 tyres.

Slightly pissed off about that as it meant I couldn't get to the scrapyard.

 

But now at least I have nice new rubber on my vitesse but am £400 lighter.

 

I also gave it a wash aswell.

Not what I was expecting this weekend to be honest.

To be fair, £400 doesn't sound bad for four new feet for such an awesome Autobahn weapon, yo.

Why the delay on tyres, do they make the out the back or what ??

I saw a Mercedes  have 4 tyres changed in less than 4 seconds  in the Japanese GP     I doubt Rosberg needs to go down the scrapyard though. His cars probably on PCP

Thankyou I must admit I have never spent that much on 5 tyres before but I bought grippy ones.

It made me laugh when they said your braked are all good (well of course they are they were only done a month ago)

Many of my fondest memories when I was a nipper was going to Cowes scrapyard on the Isle of Wight.

They had a fighter plane front end up on the wall on the outside and you used to just climb over cars getting bits and bobs.
