Those old Vauxhalls were a much better car as an auto.

I dunno, my old man had a 1.4 slushpot Mk3.5 astra and that wouldn't even pull my foreskin back.

 

It was a proper grim motor, immaculate but sparsely equipped, and when the speakers blew in it, my dad never bothered forking out to change them and chose instead to play less bassy music...

 

...which is why he had the Right Said Fred album on in the car for 6 months.

 

Honestly, if I could have afforded it back then at my age I'd have been all over that!
