When G wagens could be bought for buttons, pre kids, no stresses and lots of fun to be had.... These were taken in about 2002

The green one was a 280 manual 4 speed, my favorite of all my G's. The white one was my pals and an auto 280, as was the black and silver, it had black leather recaros. i had a few more but no photos have surfaced of those yet.

 

After rolling the green one i ran it until mot expired and flogged it to a guy who put it in his garden for about 12 yrs. it is now back on the road i believe. It had a wee twist to the A pillar and a cracked winscreen after the roll.

What sort of prices did they bottom out at?

The white and green ones were cheap at the time at £600 each. The black one i had a few years earlier. Maybe 1997 so was only 10 years old or so. It had leather recaros and wood trim etc, about 75k and a 3 door in black and silver, i remember paying £2700 for it.

I love G wagens. However, it seems lots of people with lots of money also do nowadays. Shame as this is how they should be getting used

There is an utterly hanging but worthy E reg swb example of one of these still being used by a local Mercedes fanatic. He has several more in his garden.

 

Shame the Kardashans ruined the image of these as I always enjoy seeing a proper one like yours.
