No dramas coming home from work down my favourite test track back lane. Had a quick check of oil, coolant and oil filler cap, no signs of HGF that I can see.

Ok I got it wrong about driver's seat: mess under the cover. Ripped/torn in places, doesn't look pleasant!

Could get hands down both sides of car behind rear wheels

I can only hear standard cheapish tyre noise on Tarmac from the rear

Rust and or hole in bottom of passenger door :(

Rear bearings seem ok (can get my hands twixt wheel and arch either side)

Just noticed the SVO number plate!

That's a bit posh though, should be WVO to match the stains :D

 

About the slowness... the 1.5 certainly isn't a slouch. I've driven three in recent months, and Will's one can keep up with a D-Turbo'd BX piloted by W_Cleland at FULL HOON on B-roads, the XUD only pulling away up significant hills.

 

So the 1.4... it'll be interesting back-to-back. For sure it'll be a more sedate experience than the Sporting*, though once wound up, I bet it'll carry speed* more comfortably on our type of roads.

It oozes veg, I spilled some in the back. Consider it rust-proofing. VE TDI engine loves the veg, wouldn't have it otherwise!
